To answer CarheeX's sniping... the team Kenny put out last night was full of internationals and experienced players. We had a world cup finalist, a seasoned Argentine international, a Brazilian international, and quite a few players that have featured in the first team this year. It should have handled Fulham at home.

But it's a risk and Kenny will have to win the FA cup to justify it... or he'll get slaughtered.

Come to think of it... on this site he'll get slaughtered no matter what...

Yeah but the fans didnt' buy their season tickets expecting this drivel in April/May.

Kenny deserves to be slaughtered, no matter how you spin it.

I think you'll find thousand of fans chanting his name at wembley Mate... no matter that half this board are constantly sharpening the knives. The league form is dire and will be addressed... but winning cups is a good thing no matter what the doomsayers and sh1tsmearers say!

Winning cups is better than not winning cups, I agree. Being in the top half of the table is better than the being in the bottom half aswell...but scraping a top half finish and winning one or 2 domestic cups won't really do much to help the club. It might give you something to boast about for a week or 2 between rival fans but that's about it.
The only reason that people discard the idea of our cup wins is because some posters try to use the trophies as a way to pretend we are progressing.

I said before, trophies are the cherry on the cake and not much to celebrate on their own - but we have no cake - just a cherry, and a mouldy one at that which the big clubs didn't want.

I still defend kenny on his team selection. We needed to play 3 or 4 days later and keep in mind the game could go to extra time, a lot of tired bodies will be out there never mind the injuries we could have got to the usual suspects (Gerrard and Johnson mainly). Every other manager with a thin squad would of done the same. The league game is nothing, fans turned out or not, they understand that the players needs to be rested. We are not fighting for Europe, we are safe from relegation so whether we end up in 7th or 17th it doesn't make a bloody difference.

i still think that questions should be asked about motivation of players. Every time you put on a red shirt that should be motivation enough

That is something that has been a concern for the majority of the season, now I can't say if it is down to the coaching staff being to soft on them or if there is tension in the squad or something else, from early on in the season I have thought some players looked in a comfort zone and needed a size 12 up the hole.

exactly wakka mate

I don't even mind losing when the other team is better but losing because you cannot get up for the game or don't want to try there is no excuse for that ever
