we are not good enough right across midfield. Centrally Lucas and Masch can't penetrate the opposition so therefore most of the wide midfielders time is spent defending or chasing hopeless long ball. Playing off the back foot then is putting even more pressure on a back four that includes an ageing legend (Carra)and a left back with no pace (Insua).Add to that Aggers continuing misfortune and it's easy to see why we are now conceding more than ever. However, once we get Aqualani and Torres and Gerrard back and fully fit things will improve. Every team has a sticky patch. Injuries, bad luck and poor attitude from certain players hasn't helped. The title is beyond us but top 4 is still very achievable. Changing the manager will achieve nothing and only further undermine the confidence in the club. SUPPORT means backing the club in good times and bad. Lets ALL get behind the team (including the manager) and get through this poor spell.

If it hadn't been for the 2 injuries I would have bet my house on Aquilani replacing Lucas after 70 mins.

Poor game, but at least we showed a bit of fighting spirit and pulled back an equaliser and looked like the more likely team to win it.

13 points behind Chelsea, but on the bright side we can improve, most of our top 4 rivals havent had the injury woes to their top players we have suffered, and none of them look that impressive

does anyone think the reason he brought aurilio on was simply because benayoun had just returned form injury and had run himself into the ground and he had to be protected, and bringing on aurilio kept our shape the same,

that seems just what Rafa was thinking...

but I say he might have been more effective.and for last 5-7 minutes or so ,does it really matter to retain the shape of the team when we were pushing their arses for a narrow late winner. :S

10 minutes gone, agger injured & kyriakos on, 18 minutes gone babel injured & benayoun on. at this time there was no way aquilani was going to be playing. also, riera or benayoun starting were going to be a risk as neither would be able to finish the game.

What is it this season with injuries? it's not just us, its other teams as well. god help us next season if the proposal to have a 25 man squad for the season is brought in!

Emperor Rafa talks drivel part 1826......

yes - sure Hyppia got kicked out the club for having a "personality" - I thought it was because he was in his mid-30s and his legs had gone and he was no longer a first choice.

Benitez would have loved to keep Crouch, but Crouch wanted regular games which we couldn't give him (and neither can Spurs it seems)

Keane was a mistake - nowt to do with personality traits either

so that leaves us with Bellamy - I would much rather have have "mindless zombies" than players with odious personalities who want to wrap a golf club around a team mates head in the run up to a crucial CL game.
