Why we pay whether now or over 4 years £20m for an offensive midfielder wait until Oct until he is fit give him 20mins in total 1st team football drawing 2-2 at home verus a side that will challenge you for champs league spot and you leave him on the bench. Say what you will about Ferguson at home or away in a simliar sitution he goes for it Rafa I'm afraid has lost it and this is from a Rafa supporter. he just is lucky us fans or more focused on the yanks . Anyway can someone explain to me why neither Reira or Aqualani was brought on rather than a player who has not kick a ball in 4 weeks

well he is damn dumb while substitutions what i perceive...he might be thinking bloody tactical with that crap substitution .let me be very blunt.

he brought on aurilio because Insua cant defend for [oops].and he thinks a draw at home is more important than trying for a win.he wont play Aquilani cos he aint match fit lol.confused yet?this is why we're rubbish.get used to it.

Problem is,we're too negative.We start with 2 defensive midfield player's,one of which is useless.We've got very little creativity,vision & guile in midfield.One goal came from a free kick,the other from poor defending.We really didn't create enough clear goal scoring chances.City looked more dangerous than we did.

Yeah,2 goals should be enough.But when we need to break teams down that defend well or deep,we're not gonna do it with the likes of lucas.Him & mash are the same type of player.Kuyt too,the hardest working player in the league,but with no end product.Our final ball into the box isn't good enough.The main problem is the midfield.

Yeah,you're right.But,I still think we need more vision,guile whatever you want to call it in the middle.Maybe when aquilani is fully fit,he's the answer.Perhaps we all should chip in with a quid & buy a winger!

waste a time as rafa has had plenty of chances to buy a winger but never taken it - the money would probably go on yet another defender who isn't good enough

yes we have scored alot of goals so far this season but they have been grouped in a few games really.and we do play to defensively,neither Masch or Lucas are forward playing midfielders.they are both holding players to protect the back 4.we dont create much going forward.we have very few players who can play 1 or 2 touch football,Kuyt needs 5 touches just to stand up straight.
dont u think we would have been better off playing just the one defensive midfielder today dropping Gerrard back alongside masch and plying another striker?

we had 2 subs on if he had brought aquilani on and either gerrard aquilani or benyoun all of which ere carrying injuries got injured we would have been down to ten men . simple
