I think it's a pretty good gage of fans thinkings about certain things, if most are all in agreement on here about something then it's generaly a fair assumption it's what most fans think, Dalglish not being good enough being the casing point.

KP, not at all like our current manager then

Whether you like it or not - the jury is still out on Kenny. You may get your wish... you may not. Rafa got six years of failing in the league... so hardly fair to give Kenny just one. You will say Rafa won the CL in his first season... well Kenny didn't have the opportunity to... but he's 100% in cup competitions right now.

6 years of failing in the league?! I don't think so, KP.

arsenal and Manutd have had serious bad patches but stayed with their manager and the results are there to see. So why do people want to get rid of Kenny? I have yet to see one compelling argument which means he needs to be sacked immediately.

so far we have:

-he bottled it back in 1990 so will do it again? why did he bottle it, he left because he was traumatised and it was 22yrs ago

-He is worse than Hodgson - well Hodgson averaged 1.25pts per game(Kenny 1.55) and got dumped out of the Carling cup by Northampton, never mind his signings or turgid football.
- Kenny's interviews are embarassing and never tells it the way it is? you mean like Ferguson or Wenger interviews then? where they blame the referee or do not see any incidents, when do they criticise their players?
- His signings are all crap. well we wanted young players and we wanted to get rid of 14 other players, so mission acomplished only time will tell on his current signings but so far 50% are ok. pretty standard for any manager

My point being that whilst we are stumbling along in the league the club is moving forward in so many other areas. The league form is about long term consistency and this will only happen if players stay together and keep working to improve. Nobody should be delighted with our league form but it does not mean we should again rip the team apart in the summer.

Whilst it didn't change my mind about Kenny, this is a very well thought out rebuttle to the quoted post. Although it doesn't quite tell the whole truth.

I.e.

I don't see any need to part company with Kenny before the season's end, but nor do I see anything bar at times more pleasing on the eye football, that suggest he could be a wenger or a ferguson as you have compared him too in the context of given time=success. True they are two great managers who have had time which has resulted in a glittering career, but that doesn't mean every manager should be given time, they have to show something for us to think yes given the time he will put together a strong team and strategy to move the club forward. We could all debate whether he has shown none, a little, or quite a lot to demonstrate potential in moving the club forward, but I truly believe anyone who says he has demonstrated enough is just not being truthful. A desire to keep him would be at least partly based on faith not based on evidence in my opinion.

Discounting his interim time Kenny has an inferior points to PL games ratio than Hodgson (as in if you take this season as the sole bench mark).

Whilst it is very true Wenger and Ferguson rarely criticize their players and often blame officials etc. they do not belittle every journalist that comes near them the same way Kenny does. Particularly ferguson, who whilst he won't talk to you if you've 'wronged' him, enjoys a good working relationship with many journalists.

I'm surprised someone who is defending Kenny, or advocating his continued reign would mention his signings. All your points are very good and difficult to argue with bar suggesting they aren't quite 100% accurate like I have above, apart from the mention of his proficiency in transfer dealings. -firstly I'd say as suarez was considered a 'done deal' before kenny took over as interim, I wouldn't put him down as a Kenny signing.
-Then we have Enrique who despite recent poor performances seems like a great buy.
-Then we have downing, who I would have said was going to be a sure fire decent success before he came, I don't think anyone could have predicted him to flop like he has so to an extent you can't really blame Kenny for.
-Then we have Carroll, Henderson and Adam. From day 1, so this is not hindsight, I would have said these players cannot play the type of football that Kenny seems to want to instill into the team. They never have played it in their careers (all be it short careers in 2 cases, but) there was no reason to think they could. In fact certainly in the case of Adam and Carroll I think there was a lot of reason to think they wouldn't cope with it.

Kennys record is not 50% good in the transfer market. You can argue his success, but it would take some crazy dressing up to think he's done decent let alone as good as any other manager. His transfer record is appalling. Truly woeful. This is my reason for not thinking he will be able to pull off building a team quickly enough (potentially ever) because over half of his big signings not only flopped, but did and do not fit the system he plays. This is a ridiculous mistake to make. He had big money to build the spine of a team from which to fill in gaps later. A year on we do not have a spine. We are still lost. We still require good players in all the positions he spent money in more than we require players in positions that previous managers have bought for. I would say that was a damming transfer record.

If you read all the other posts most others feel the same way as me in that he is hopelessly out of his depth, is embarrassing the Club and himself and needs to be told to leave A.S.A.P. it's only you and a few others who continue to back this loser and thats only because of what he did 20 odd years ago, just a sad thing to base your argument on really which carries no weight.

The only "loser" here is you. You keep getting banned so why do you keep coming back? Just f*ck off away from the forums, your pathetic views aren't wanted here, they add nothing. Go get yourself a life.

So when most fans wanted Roy out and kenny in they were right, most on here want raffa back so is that right?
When it is clearly a big margin yes I do think it's a good gage, I think the vast majority wanted, Hodgson out and it was the correct decision in the end, the vast majority wanted Dalglish to replace him to steady the ship again probably right decision. was'nt as clear for making Dalglish permanent manager though which has been proved was the wrong decision, now the vast majority want Dalglish out so again that should be the correct decision, I will disagree with your view that most on here want Benitez back I think the opposite in fact.

Discounting his interim time?!? I'm sorry, but that's absolutely laughable. You can't just "discount" a certain period of time because it suits your own argument. That's completely unacceptable as an argument. Why not just discount the first half of this season while you're at it. Actually, discount the cup runs too. Nonsense.

Once again, moving the goalposts. Suarez and Carroll were signed officially on the same day. Kenny would have had to sign off on both of them. None of us know how much each person was involved in signing either player. Kenny's involvement in the Carroll deal may have been equal to his involvement in the Suarez deal for all we know. I'm not interested in people passing off guesswork as facts to suit their own arguments. It's cheap as f*ck, tbh.

BRK - a great post but let me correct you on a few points - highlighted.

This seasons Kennys points per game is 1.39 and Hodgsons was 1.25. so your are incorrect in youe statement.

Fergie has a poor relationship with Journo's ask the BBC, Also it is always mentioned on Sunday Supplement on how so many journo's have been banned

On the 50% success rate we have to judge all players who have arrived since Kenny became manager so removing Suarez we cannot.

so my view - 8 players signed.

Doni
Hardly played so hard to judge

Successes
Enrique, Suarez, Bellamy, Coates

Failures
Carroll, Downing, Adam, Hendo

thats 50% and to be fair Hendo, Downing and even Adam have had their good moments and even MOM's. In my view Hendo sits between, Downing should have produced more.

so basically whilst I thorughly respect your opinion when it comes to facts it's nowhere near as bad as you think.
