Personally, I would be inclined to look into the non-traditional leagues - i.e. Denmark, Mexico, Argentina, etc. - or looking at un-fancied clubs that are currently performing well - i.e. Montpelier, Borussia Mochengladbach, Udinese, etc. If we only have £50 million or so to spend this summer, I'd rather see maybe one big signing and the rest spend on a multitude of players. I'm sick of us buying English talent for no other reason than them being English. For the cost of Henderson or Downing, you could buy literally the best player in one of the less fancied leagues. I'd rather take a chance on David Teixeira for £8-10 million than buy Darren Bent for 2 or 3 times the price. Even Olivier Giroud, France's top scorer, would be about half the price of Llorente, whose value has surely risen after his performance against United. Lower fees mean lower risk, but the rewards can be just as high. Look at Javier Hernandez. Cost about 1/7 of Carroll but has scored about 5 times as many goals.

Think the talent is much closer to home than we think. For example James mc Clean signed from Derry City for 300,000 to Sunderland last year. An absolute bargin if you ask me! Young promising players are there, finding them the problem!

If there were two players that Liverpool should go after, I would take Jovetic from Fiorentina. He is young (22 years old) he scored 12 goals in 21 serie A games, and hes a phenomenal talent. They list him as a striker, but hes dynamic, and much like Suarez would give us another player who can be creative with the ball, (which Liverpool dreadfully lacks) Unfortunately Chelsea is also in on him, but we have to be realistic too, if Liverpool wants to win the premier league, they need to outbid the other top teams in the premiership for these type of young talents. The other player Id love to see at Liverpool, and expect to get a lot of grief for, is Carlos Tevez. Say what you want about the guy, a Tevez-Suarez partnership would not only be the best in the premiership, but the best in the world, of course is highly unrealistic based on his price tag, but these owners have money, and if they want to win, go after a marquee proven player like Tevez, or a budding star like Jovetic. Those are my two cents.

umm...
Mat Hummels subotic Marko Marin Mario Gotze Yann M'Vila Thomas Muller Marco Reus(alraedy signed for dortmund) Leandro Damião
these arent realistic signings...they`ll want CL football and will be very expensive... My thoughts exactly, i would be ecstatic if we could get anyone off that list... I think a very good option down the right wing, and someone we could get is Jefferson Farfan from Schalke.

He is very energetic, has great dribbling skills, has pace and a he is a clever player, exactly what Liverpool need. I would love to see him at LFC but I am afraid that with no CL footy it will be almost imposible.
