That's nice you've never invited me.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

I think the term gloryhunting thing does'nt just mean the success part, it also takes into consideration the fame side, although we are no longer a really big Club, the brand name is still one of the biggest in the world football wise and this is what the fans attatch themselves too.
Can I just ask, people seem to be talking about it being wrong to separate fans and where they come from, what are peoples thoughts about the Basque teams in Spain only signing Basque players or Yorkshire Cricket team only signing people born in Yorkshire it's not that long ago since this was common practice, dont know if it still is, is that wrong too.

ever hear the term 2 wrongs dont make a right. id rather lead by example than follow suit
Football will always be about identity wether people like it or not, City v City, Town v Town or Village v Village it's all about the rivalry with one thinking there better than the other. I was at the game against Everton the other night and although we are both from the same City the differences where there for all to see and that was from two sets of fans from the same City, there is even more of a difference between fans from other parts of the Country in mentality and differences in lifestyles. I dont think the tribal part of football and where you come from will ever leave the game, I have lost count how many teams fans have come to Anfield and sang the song " We support our local team " so identity and where you come from must be important and still play a part still in football not just within our Club but Club's up and down the country, so to dismiss it is just burying heads in sand.

Great to see lads who would occasionally have a go at each other on the forum all pulling in the same direction on this topic.

We are all fans in our own unique ways and it's good to see that the vast majority on here recognise that.

This thread has cheered me up no end.

Yup, exactly. I love the football team, the city and the people but I also love plenty of other cities and people.

I love Manchester and its people but not Man U.

Great real ale pubs in Manchester Sam's chop house, marble arch (with own brewery like baltic fleet) and I could go on.
