He has not been backed in buying Silva n Villa. When Rafa gets these type of players and still the team does not perform then i would agree 100000000% to get him sacked! He has been given funds to replace players and not funds to strengthen the squad. Its 2 different things this is lame.please stop this rant of not getting the full backing..... money is not the answer to every misery...the thing is he knew well coming to anfield that we are not a big spending club,i dont support the yanks at all,,and he knew what are we craving for, You buy villa, silva then u buy a left back for some 15 mill quids, then a CB for a hefty money. then another winger...and it goes on until.... I hope & pray things start improving for LFC now but if situation occurs that he has to leave and that is for Madrid,we'll see how he shows up there.... YNWA

he should go coz it's obvious that he couldnt build the great football team that we should have.
i mean he can not build the system for us like Wenger does for Arsenal.
the only one great thing he did was signing Torres.
I really miss "The Red Machine" but Rafa just can not create it.

yea there's a lot to be said for that. investers normally bring money and build the club, and the yanks didnt. they seemed to take a financial risk in getting involved in the club, and it hasnt had an immediate return.

i can't believe someone suggested alonso was not a big name - the lad was always seen as the next big thing before we bought him ..... it was no gamble to pay 10mill for him as everyone knew he was going to be summat special - i can remember Toshack banging on about him while he managed the club
rafa's scouting is appalling .... he has brought in so many players that just don't fit in england - but then players like luis garcia were bought for europe not england and that's why we are struggling - rafa only cares about the champions league

thats a good point. there are players that benitez has definitely got the best out of and even improved. alonso has developed a lot at liverpool. Gerrard, mascherano, torres, kuyt, benny. list goes on, all players who are developing or reaching their potential. its always a gamble, and as raff said himself, because of funds shortages he has had to gamble more with his purchases. he's probably done as well as most would have in the circumstances, although im sure someone is going to disagree with that.

i wasn't saying it was alonso's fault - i did say rafa couldn't get the best out of him ....... whether that was alonso or rafa to blame i am unsure but personally believe it is a bit of both to be honest .... alonso wasn't performing and rafa didn't have the team built to get the best of him is how i see it
