I agree, Hendo is young. He doesn't drink or go out much. He want's to work hard on his game so i'm willing to back him and hope he turns into a decent player.

Honestly before his injury I honestly think Lucas was maybe the best dm in the world at the time, I can't think of another player as a soley destructive midfielder who is better or was playing as good as him before the injury. De Jong and Alonso are the only two I can think off. Certainly no one in serie A and no one for real or barca so that leaves Bundesliga and premier league and no one for Dortmund or Bayern come to mind and only De Jong in our league.

Be honest, we have seen 'nothing' to suggest that Henderson will ever be worth £16 let alone £16m!! Comparing him to Lucas because Lucas had a slow start to his LFC career is absurb. Lucas was always going to come good - we signed him after he'd been crowned Brazillian footballer of the year!! Henderson is a joke of a player that gives us nothing. He doesn't do much wrong, but he does even less right. He just doesn't seem to be on the pitch getting involved and some people are getting tricked into thinking that's a good thing. What remarkably low standards you have for an LFC midfielder!

Hold on a second mate don't have a go at my idea of what makes a good footballer, I know this isn't the same standard as brazilian footballer of the year but it's got to be near enough as good as the European equivalent.
In 2011 Fifa named Henderson as 1 of the top 13 youth player to watch for in 2011, let me give you a sample of the calibre of players on that list: Lucas of Sau Paulo, Lukaku, De Gea, Shaquiri, Erik Lamela, Kagawa, Castignos, Dragoev. So far Lucas will be going for upwards of 25mil, de gea has already gone for 20mil, Lukaku for 18mil, Shaquiri is 15mil, Lamela is rated as the ronaldo of River plate with us and chelsea watching him rated at 15mil, kagawa is a star player in the Dortmund title winning/challenging side, and Dragoev is very highly rated by all the top clubs across europe but just hasn't made the switch like the majority of these players. Hendo was signed for 14mil, not 16, or 18, or 20 mil was 14mil and some of those fees are in installments so it's not really that much of a gamble. He's also England u21 captain which is similar to Lucas who was captain of Brazil at u21 level.

Just because a player isn't performing from the off doesn't mean their [oops] or they don't dserve to wear the liverpool red, you can name 100s of players who take time to fulfill their potential at clubs and I guarantee most of them didn't win player of the year awards at their previous clubs etc.

Cantona didn't work at leeds, Evra took 1 yr to settle at mancs, Rush took close to 2 seasons before he started to score for lfc and was even close to being sold for a nominal fee. Skrtel took half a season to settle and only now he's showing top cb potential that he's never really shown on a regular basis before. Reina took half a season, Macherano took a season with West ham, Arsharvin fulfill his potential aged 26 which really shows how late some pro's can be in fulfilling their potential.

The bottom line on Henderson is he's young aged 20, he's playing regularly at the highest level so he'll improve at the quickest rate possible, he's got potential given the fact Capello, Fergie, Harry, Dalglish and Commoli all spotted it, and he's solely focused on football so much so he doesn't really seem to have a life outside of it given he doesn't go out with mates or use social networking or even drink.

Upcoming world class players IMO for 2014 WORLD CUP:
K-P Boateng, Gotze, Sturridge, Kroos, Lucas Leiva, Hummels, Kyriakos Papadopoulos,

+1, Desh.

Let's not forget how late Drogba turned into a defender's nightmare, nor how long Crouch took to score his first LFC goal. And how easily we forget Lucas Leiva.

A young guy comes into the most successful club in England, for a large fee, and has the media spotlight on him every step of the way. That's going to get to him. He also started by playing a dozen games out of position because in our haste to spend money on apparently "over-priced English rubbish" we forgot to buy a right wing/RM. Just because he's not Steven Gerrard doesn't mean he's not a good player. He's about a hundred times better than Adam for a start, someone the press droned on and on over.

Henderson is steady, finding his feet, and gives glimpses of brilliance. I think he's doing fine, just fine.

For a 20 year old to put in consistent performances like hendo has, it's considered excellent already. Hendo is playing beyond his age and many don't see that.

Consistently anonymous isn't good though. He gives nothing to the team whatsoever and I am genuinely shocked at the sudden turnaround in opinion of him (and carroll) just because we beat man city with 2 dodgy penalties and beat a very weak man utd side - neither game in the league I might add and neither were influenced in any way, shape or form by henderson. Yes, I KNOW he's 20 but so are lots of other people - it doesn't mean they're good enough to play midfield for Liverpool. The only way I would accept henderson as a first team regular was if our ambitions are to avoid the champions league and finish 7th or 8th most seasons.
