1 word - Lucas and you'll forgive him for his below par or average performances for us so far, if in 1-2 seasons time he's performing at a level any where were Lucas is at the moment we'll have a 20 mil + player playing in att mid for us.
Honestly before his injury I honestly think Lucas was maybe the best dm in the world at the time, I can't think of another player as a soley destructive midfielder who is better or was playing as good as him before the injury. De Jong and Alonso are the only two I can think off. Certainly no one in serie A and no one for real or barca so that leaves Bundesliga and premier league and no one for Dortmund or Bayern come to mind and only De Jong in our league.

Most people wants DM to make eye catching sliding tackles to win the balls. That's why he still looks crap in few people's eye. Lucas never gonna do those kind of Tackles. But he will intercept more than any other DM does atm. May be he likes to stand and deliver. Better passing DM in the league. May be, yeah may be Song will compete with him for PL's 11 with a DM....

Did it strike any of you that KK would rather sacrifice Gerrard to bring on Bellamy rather than Hendo?
Shows how much faith the gaffer has in the young lad.
I must say that Hendo has been unspectecular but he sure is effective playing the unsung hero role in midfield. He was extremely disciplined and made sure none of the scum had anytime on the ball while he was near any of them.
While Carroll and Kuyt get the plaudits, Hendo is slowly cementing his place in the side as an important first team player. Yes he is getting on with things and seems to have a good attitude. He may progress to a solid do the simple stuff right rather than anything spectacular. He is no Gerrard but then who is?

Be honest, we have seen 'nothing' to suggest that Henderson will ever be worth £16 let alone £16m!! Comparing him to Lucas because Lucas had a slow start to his LFC career is absurb. Lucas was always going to come good - we signed him after he'd been crowned Brazillian footballer of the year!! Henderson is a joke of a player that gives us nothing. He doesn't do much wrong, but he does even less right. He just doesn't seem to be on the pitch getting involved and some people are getting tricked into thinking that's a good thing. What remarkably low standards you have for an LFC midfielder!

He doesn't do much wrong, but he does even less right. I can't agree with you on second part. He isn't doing as much as we want atm. He is doing good job, if not brilliant.

I think he shows flashes of something really great. As of yet, he's consistently solid though nothing spectacular, but every now and then he takes a great shot, a defense splitting pass, or a great run. If he's given the time Lucas has been given, I firmly believe he will turn into something truly great.

Unfortunately reputation isn't enough to bring in better players who are looking for 6+ million a year + 20million Transfer fee. This front we missed out Mata per sure. Reasonable Transfer fee. Mata who transferred for 20 Million & <100 k wages along with Suarez.

Hendo was brought with massive potential in mind (like Carroll), it is half a season gone, cmon get real and judge him two three season in.
