Just what I was thinking. Bent is a quality PL player, proven and established (way better than a 19 year old) but still not good enough. We have Carrol, Bellamy & Kuyt, but they just ain't goal machines. Last case senario we could stick Bellamy up front if Suarez does get a ban but ehhh.... not ideal is it.

Erm, why would Villa want to swap a player that scores goals for fun, for a player that couldn't score in a brothel??

Was Bent as good as Carrol when he was 22? No idea how many goals he scored at the same age for a PL team. Maybe compare it to his last season at Necastle (when he was 21) and we can compare, hes not had the fitness or minutes on the pitch since he has been with us.

according to german newspapers dortmund are prepared to sell lucas barrios for 12m euros.

Might be worth a shout if he's as good as Lucas and Barros combined.

So, after todays news, do you think we will be looking to add some flair and firepower in january? I feel it's a posibility but I think our priorities should remain the same. 8 games, which will probably be reduced, is like an injury...we can cope with that, but perhaps it gives Kenny a perfect excuse to go to the owners and say "Look, I need more flair if you want CL football next season"...
