The worst possible thing that could have happened last night is that we went in with a very weak squad and got beaten. It would have a very detrimental effect on the squad and club as a whole! We needed a win and did what we had to do! All praise should be given to management and the players who gave their all! [/quote]
i dont agree its only the carling cup not a major trophy, aresenal played all there yougsters last night so will man u tonight, they realize whats important. we dont obviously..

The gooners did go out though and scum have palace.
That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

That's funny, because I remember Arsenal's entire season going into a meltdown of apocalyptic proportions after losing the Carling Cup final, and primarily because it's been so long since they won anything (including this "unimportant" competition). Getting that monkey off our backs would relieve a lot of pressure, and if other teams are going to take it lightly then I'm happy for them to cede the advantage in every fixture because we're trying harder. After all, the side we fielded last night had both youth and weaknesses, just not so many that it couldn't function.

just get over it...
unfortunately these things happen. if kenny would have played a couple more youngsters like flanno and robinson etc and we'd end up losing the game then he'd get criticised for that reason instead. some people never get happy but you can't have it both ways...
yes it's very bad news if he's out for long but lets just hope these rumours about being out for 6 months turns out to be incorrect. i dont want it both ways ive said all along the league is way more important. mancini changed his whole team last night i saw his interview he said he would have liked to have feilded a strong team but could nt because you cant play both games so close. we need lucas and it was a mistake to play him no 2 ways about it but if we'd put out a weaker team yesterday and lost then kenny would receive criticism for that decision. there's always people that won't be happy... i see ur point about the league being the priority but who knew lucas would pick up an injury last night? no one. it was very unfortunate. these things happen, he could have picked up a serious injury on training tomorrow, you just never know. carling cup might not be important to you but for most of us it's the best chance to get a trophy this season and im very happy that we went through and im also happy with the team selection...

It makes perfect sense, Suarez hasn't had ret at all, He played in the world cup, jumped into our starting line up, played in the cop America, came back, featured in the matches we had and to be honest, we have more cover in midfield than we do upfront. If we lose Lucas to injury a number of players can come in and get the job done, Stevie is coming back, Adam, Spearing, Henderson, Aurelio can play in the role of a CM if that is really necessary...up front without Suarez we often lack bite and creativity as well as flair. We can replace a striker but we cannot replace or cover for a player that has all of Luis' qualities. With a bit of tactical tinkering we can cover what Lucas was giving the team. That's why it makes perfect sense....at least to me it does.

your entitled to your opinion but its just so ridiculous and here's why...
it was LUCAS who went into the tackle. he wasnt tackled. he went in recklessly and injured himself, so if you want to blame someone, blame lucas. or else just get over it, fckin hell.
Luis Garcia, He drinks sangria He came from Barca, to bring us Joy He's five foot seven, he's football heaven please don't take my Luis away.

Yep great post mate. I too feel that if we just rested all are best players, Lucas being the best, for the entire season then come may we'd have the fitest team in the prem. league. Had we rested Gerrard for the last four years, he'd have at least another 50 years left in him.
