If Man City allow Tevez to win it undermines Mancini, and ultimately he's just as poisonous as Rafa, not so? But Mancini has the support of the owners, while Rafa was only ever at odds with H&G.

And Mancini gained that after winning but a single cup. Rafa did a lot more than that, with much less money, and he did it faster, yet ultimately he had no power? How does that work? It's pretty hard to alienate everyone that quickly while you are being successful on the field, though it gets easier if someone works against you. Someone like the media, the owners, and half the fans.

Benitez knows what he wants - total control. He won't get it anywhere, but that doesn't imply he's wrong to want it, nor that the problem is entirely of his making.

Has everything to do with it when your criticising another manager being blackmailed by players, ring a bell?

It has everything to do with other managers! Fergie and Mancini can do whatever they want because they have the full support of the board. After H&G bought LFC, Rafa gradually lost control of everything. Were his word law players like Alonso and Benayoun and Riera and whoever would have no room to complain whatsoever - they would be out on their bums begging for change from some tiny club in darkest Europe. Except Rafa couldn't sell them because they were better than anyone he could buy because he had no transfer kitty. blah blah round the circle we go again.

The relationship between a manager and his club is paramount, which is why I mention it. It works at Man U, worked at Arsenal, and it's working at City. But it failed dismally when H&G were at Liverpool after Rafa had won no. 5 among other things, and somehow that disintegration was *entirely* Rafa's fault? Hmm?

whatever happens at any other club has nothing to do with liverpool football club , alex ferguson can do what he likes at his club he is employed at it has got nothing to do with anything at liverpool football club , the only time ferguson or any other manager can influance anything involving LFC is when LFC play that club .

While not false, this isn't the point. It's not so much about what Fergie does that affects Liverpool, but how he can do as he pleases at Man U and no one there bats an eyelid. He rules absolutely. If you support the manager (as club owner) those little disagreements that occur every year (eg Rooney last season) are shown to be the fault of the player in pretty much every case, and if you can afford to dump or appease the player with more money the wound cannot fester.

Contrast this with Rafa as manager while H&G were in control, where everyone had a complaint and ultimately Rafa lost the dressing room because he couldn't get rid of the poisonous voices. History is written by the victor - if the owners say Rafa is right, then he's right, and everyone accepts it and moves on. H&G never said Rafa was right, because they were always at odds with him because they wouldn't give him control (giving him control would prevent them stealing our money). By inference therefore the people in these disputes with Rafa are right and he is wrong, and therefore he is seen as the cause of all the ills (truthfully or not). Really not very difficult to understand. Rafa's confrontational demeanour merely broke the camel's back.

wrong where h&g in charge at valencia or inter milan ? no , sorry he lost the dressing rom because he was like a dictator he fought with players he fought with the board he fought with the man who ad been withy him since his days at tenerife pako ayestarán surely these people can not all be mistaken and wrong , then he gets the inter milan job and causes conflict there as well , he is just trouble toxic sorry but he is and thats why he should never be liverpool manager again this club cant afford to go back to those dark times , do you really think if fenway didnt give him what he demanded he would just get on with trying his best to get the best out of the squad he had ?

No, they weren't. Did the owners support him at these clubs? No. Spotting a pattern yet?

Is that his fault? Perhaps. (Here you would answer "absolutely", and neither of us can prove our point of view is 100% accurate) He definitely wants to be the dictator, the way Fergie is, and that could cause issues. But it's funny how dictatorial managers are often quite successful...

That's an excellent question. I think that his track record of taking us to a record points tally despite all the time bombs ticking would suggest he'd still try to get the best out of the squad, but I'd be concerned over the make-up of the squad. Would he be able to hang onto Torres and get him playing again, for example? What about Gerrard and their supposed falling out? Prior to the take-over there was mainly debate about whether these two players would stay, but you know, as it happened we finished 6th without much contribution from either of them.

It's hard to say. I think Rafa wants the best for Liverpool FC, even now, and while the scenery in management has changed here it's fairly clear that FSG support the manager in the critical areas outside transfer dealings, where they have appointed their own man (who claims to mainly scout players but not to have the final say on a transfer). Since Rafa accepted less than that at Inter I'd say he'd soldier on, maybe see whether Commolli brought anything good to the table, and ultimately I think that particular relationship would determine a happy or sad outcome (leaning toward sad unless Commolli could impress Rafa, which may be an impossible task, but who really knows?).

You have a very over-active imagination. You don't know other people's minds, so just because you say people have suddenly 'forgiven' Torres because of these comments, doesn't make it so. Complete nonsense.

Just because some fans may want Rafa back in the future, does not mean they're "brainwashed". Everyone doesn't have the same opinions as you on everything, and that doesn't make them wrong or you right. The sooner you get your head around that, the better.

Personally I wouldn't be against the return of Rafa in the future under the right circumstances. It can't be any time soon obviously. He had to go when he did, and the press did run him down to the ground and try to make him look foolish at every opportunity, which ultimately I think got the better of him. One thing that can't be doubted though, is that he knows his stuff, and he knows how to win tactical battles like no other Liverpool manager i've ever lived through. Year after year in the Champions League, we beat the best that Europe had to offer, and we beat them deservedly. He built a fantastic team that saw us go to places like the Nou Camp, the Bernabeu and the San Siro and win! Just a shame that some people let their own bitterness cloud over those achievements.

lenno, I see your still wasting your time. I am ashamed of you.

Sigh.... I know tired
