Funny that Torres - who was said to have an uneasy relationship with Rafa - should single him out for praise in his latest batch of lies before Sunday's clash Ironically, I think he's speaking the truth there. Benitez made him, and he knows it. As I understood it he also thought Benitez broke him, but perhaps that view may have changed?

look i realise benitez is the only manager who some have seen and brought success , but come on only the complete brainwashed would not see that he is toxic and brings trouble everywhere he goes from tenerife were he got sacked after relegating them valencia, liverpool and inter milan and then the demanding to randy learner(aston villa) losing him the chance of taking over at aston villa , yes he did bring success at liverpool but to defend benitez and blame everyone else in the decline of the club is so shortsighted people are blind to it , and look i admit i dont like benitez because of his horrible toxic style his massive waste of millions his washing of the clubs dirty linen in public , plus the way he hangs around liverpool football club like some sort of spector waiting to pounce and even possibly deep down wanting dalglish to fail , some brainwashed liverpool fans call for him to return , now torres has come out with some rubbish about benitez he is forgiven and all is well , honestly liverpool fans need to wake up stop going backwards and look to what might happen in the future because its certainly not clear cut the future of liverpool football club .

You have a very over-active imagination. You don't know other people's minds, so just because you say people have suddenly 'forgiven' Torres because of these comments, doesn't make it so. Complete nonsense. Just because some fans may want Rafa back in the future, does not mean they're "brainwashed". Everyone doesn't have the same opinions as you on everything, and that doesn't make them wrong or you right. The sooner you get your head around that, the better. Personally I wouldn't be against the return of Rafa in the future under the right circumstances. It can't be any time soon obviously. He had to go when he did, and the press did run him down to the ground and try to make him look foolish at every opportunity, which ultimately I think got the better of him. One thing that can't be doubted though, is that he knows his stuff, and he knows how to win tactical battles like no other Liverpool manager i've ever lived through. Year after year in the Champions League, we beat the best that Europe had to offer, and we beat them deservedly. He built a fantastic team that saw us go to places like the Nou Camp, the Bernabeu and the San Siro and win! Just a shame that some people let their own bitterness cloud over those achievements.

Oh god are we having the "Rafa is toxic" debate again. ok he isnt toxic , but he has had disputes with the valencia board , gerrard ,alonso, carragher, reina, torres and the person who had been his right hand man for years pako , plus rick parry , purslow even h&g , then he fought with the star players at inter milan stalwarts like zanetti and materrazzi and then the president of inter milan , then he turns up at villa and starts to demand , now lets look at this list are all these people wrong or is benitez just a poor misunderstood person ?

and then the president of inter milan So it's ok then for the owner to promise you a healthy transfer budget, watch while you sell several key players, and then not give you a cent to spend? Something like that would trigger the "fire me so I can take my package" reaction in pretty much anyone. Look, Rafa is no angel, but it's fairly clear that in football (as in every other aspect of life) it takes two to tango. Rafa certainly had too many bust-ups for people to accept him with open arms, but at some clubs like oh, say, Manchester United, what the manager says goes and that's the end of the story. Rafa most likely believes that with his ability to get a team to the sharp end of basically every competition he's entered that he should be afforded the same leeway. That doesn't really hold with modern economic principles, but it also doesn't mean he may be described by any of the poisonous adjectives you've attributed to him. The Rafa debate is so clouded in deceit it's hard to understand just who among observers is blind.
