Any premiership player can chase around and close down.

As for the team not being good enough. I'm less concerned about that. Our team is better than Swansea's is it not? therefore at home we should beat Swansea, and completely outplay them. We didn't.

Yes the team could be better, but it's good enough to DO better. It's not because of the manager.

Producing one chance a game gets you into any side in the world? HAHAHA you are ridiculous. I don't think downing played as badly as some people are suggesting, but what a stupid thing to say by you. Utterly ridiculous.

Better off sacking 5 managers a season till we get Mourinho to take over.

I for one love the way we play now and move the ball around and even though we are not winning as many as we should I am not going to call a beheading of the King to stop this football, bugger that I like it as frustrating as it is.

Things are moving forward and all power to the man. The lads on the field have to share the blame for yesterday and carroll can get his fecking head in order for sure, but it will come.

Anyone who wants instant success for tons of money, the man city bus is somewhere else.

Oh and on the weekend SAF has his 25th anniversary and has been successful, I will give him that, there is a leason to learn. Changing a manager after a couple of sodding draws is not the answer, he was only one game away from being sacked too.

Now either support the team or sod off in my view.

+1. I also find it funny that a large portion of the people who seem to demand instant success and are calling for the manager's head are some of the older and 'seasoned' fans - the same people who think it's their divine right to be given respect by all just for the fact that they've 'supported' the club for 30-40 years. I say 'supported' because I can't see much support going on at the moment from them, so I question how much support they've actually shown over the years, aside from singing when they were winning.

another 2 points dropped at home just is not good enough no matter how u dress it up!!simply team selection was not right kd comes out and says how pleased he is with bellamys form yet does not start him in a a game where i think he was signed to played in the games we struggle to break teams down why is he not exploring the option of playing bellamy and suarez up top?as he rants on about how carroll was bought for the long term so surely bellamy was signed for the now???as hes not getting any younger and i for 1 believe his performances so far coming on and the matches he started more than deserve a starting place ahead of quite a few who havent as much as earned a shirt!!hopefully this nails home that we are really struggling and that at least 3 BIG NAME!! signings need to be made if this team is to pull up any trees of finishing in the top 4 cause the other teams like spurs and dare i say it even ARSENAL look like having a more realistic chance of finishing top 4 even after the dreadful starts they have made spurs strengh in depth compared to ours is there for all to see!!

We kept a clean sheet.

7 mins on the clock - Downing puts a fantastic ball into the box and Carroll crashes it against the crossbar with the goal at his mercy (I suppose that's Kenny's fault). If that went in, i'd say there's a good chance we'd have gone on to win that.

That's now 11 times we've hit the woodwork this season. Downing alone has hit it 3 times (which is more than 8 of the PL teams' players in total!). It may sound like an excuse, but there's no doubt that we're just not getting the luck in front of goal. I remain confident that this will change soon, and that some of these shots will start going in off the post instead of out.

Very mature, kid. And a great contribution too. Nothing less than i'd expect.

I said a goal on a plate type chance like Carroll had. Name a left winger who produces a goal on a plate like that every single game, and then tell me which team he's playing for. Please do. It will be enlightening. You'd expect someone to score around half of those kind of gilt-edged chances wouldn't you. So one a game, 38 games in a league season equals 19 assists or so.

Now lets look at actual assists from last year. The most was 18 (what a shocker! Surely you've got to produce much more than that to be any good, lol), and it was from nani, who has a lot of trouble getting in good sides in the world doesn't he, lol.

The next most was 15, Drogba. Not a left winger. Next it's 14, for Fabregas. Not a left winger, still less than 19, and he too has trouble getting in top sides in the world. Who is he playing for? Oh that's right it's Barcelona.

So again, please go and name a left winger who creates this many good chances. You won't be able to. Because what you consider laughable is actually showing a lack of your own understanding.

Better yet, try to name a left winger in the past 20 years for US who has done that.. Perhaps once you fail to name any, you'll realise why I would be fairly happy if Downing managed to create that many chances for us.

Some people disregard what could turn out to be an assist but for poor finishing. If that shot goes an inch or 2 lower, then we're 1-0 up with 7 mins gone and it's a goal scored by Carroll and an assist by Downing. Our finishing is letting us down - both Downing and Henderson could have had a lot more assists this season if it wasn't for most of the good chances they've created being missed. Downing's ball for that chance yesterday was world class. People ignore that because the chance was missed - Downing didn't miss it, he did his part in setting it up.
