i still thought we were poor today,delighted to have got 3 points.i dont think the ref was that bad today,obviously made 1 big mistake but apart from that he did ok.
Andy Carrol was poor again for me.i know he scored but his best work was defending set pieces in our box.he has got to be mobile and he isnt.
we gave the ball away time n time again,kuyt being the biggest culprit.

lucas had a top game for me today, as did suarez, ( does anyone remember seeing him flipping his lid when someone kicked his ball before kickoff) psycho!! ) thing i noticed is , apart from the long balls which seem to have creeped into our game, (nothing against them at all as long as they are accurate), in away games our tactic seems to rest on not letting the other team keep the ball - kind of exactly the same as our home tactic in fact, so far we have i htink 2 aways 2 away losses and no draws so i cant criticse too much , since, if we have the ball they cant score right? What i was expecting today and what i would think suit suarez away from home today is to let the team come onto us and whip a long ball onto suarez (or when he is awake) carrol, but we never seem to do this, spurs spanked us i think they planned their tactics on us playing possession football away from home and they got it spot on..As others have said 'derby match' so can't read anything from it but id like to see more mixing of useful long ball as opposed to useLESS long ball. After all we are told adam is the new alonso or something like that. Good to see gerard looks pretty sharp.

Some of my thoughts today

1. Jack Rodwell was very harshly sent off. The only person i actually blame in this incident is the ref. Jack clearly won the ball and Suarez being the little cunning tw@t that he is, jumped to avoid a major contact, felt a bit of a knock and made the most of it. The ref spoiled the game for the neutrals.

2. Our passing is terrible. We have players that have no [oops]!ng idea what to do. Carragher, Skertel, Kelly, Lucas, Adam, Kuyt, Carroll, all dont have a clue how to pass and move. They know that they have to pass and move but clearly they went to a different school.

3. Bellamy must start more often because he bring intelligence to our play.

4. Enrique is the bargain of the season for us already.

5. Lucas, as i have said many times, is not a playmaker. He is a destroyer so when he gets the ball, he has no clue what to do. So he plays it slowly to the player who is the danger area instead of looking up and passing it to space to alleviate the pressure.

6. We have missed Gerrard so much. He brings so much quality to our game. a certain calmness, one touch intelligence and precision.

7. Adam is a real bad tackler and his positioning is becoming quite suspect. All he does bring to this team is his quality from corners and dead ball situations. he needs to show much more energy and passing range when he puts on that red shirt.

f*ck the neutrals, and lucas is not a destroyer , maybe a spoiler - if he ever learned to pass he would be worth 30million

don't agree that suarez is a [oops]- he did well getting those 2 decisions for us

Great result today. the ref got it completely wrong when he showed the red card and the game obviously changed from that moment on.

great for carroll to get that goal and it was a fine set up by bellamy and enrique. Also another goal for suarez and he showed great determination in that situation.

Great to go into the international break with this result and hopefully we can beat the mancs in two weeks time

Good result hopefully Carroll will pick it up now i think he is approaching his full fitness and is chasing down a lot of the balls he didnt give up on the balls played to him in the square for example he dominated the defender and then howard to force a corner near the end he showed detemination and hopefully him and suarez will learn to gel adam aint too good but Gerrard will take his place and i think its better for henderson to come into games and settle him in for his first year i dont think he was bought to fit into the team straight away but hes a good player

We continue to plan to give the ball away all the time. This is the only conclusion I can draw from today's display. Everton had ten men for 70 minutes, but it took us almost 40 of those before we got on the scoreboard. While it's true that a side with fewer men works harder and is often more difficult to score against than when they have 11 men, we really laboured to keep possession in midfield; and that's not the same thing as struggling to find that final ball or the back of the net.

It took me a great deal of time to work out who our second wide player was, after Kuyt. Downing was totally absent today - really poor performance from him, but everyone has bad days. We missed the outlet on the left, and we also seemed not to encourage Kelly to go forward which I felt was a bit strange because he's usually handy in that department. Enrique didn't get forward much either until Bellamy came on, so I guess Kenny was mainly interested in not losing this one, though I would have preferred a bit more killer instinct. At least we finally kept a clean sheet!

And yeah, Suarez has still scored in all the EPL games where we scored (this season). Some people knocked him for today, but I thought he put in a shift, got us the penalty and scored a goal. I'd take that every week. Carroll continues to improve as well. We're starting to look like a team up front, but that midfield link is a bit absent without Gerrard. Adam doesn't do enough each game for me, though that may be because the team is not built around him (unlike at Blackpool). I feel he's still struggling a bit to fit in as a result.

Otherwise good enough performance for the win, and I'm glad we played well in the second half for a change.

i think when someone rams into your leg with their shins, its pretty sore. it wasnt a dive. he was tackled, he went down, ref made a bad call with the card.
