bit harsh on skrtel as he was playing out of postion today and of late. but we could do a lot worse than sell him and bring a player like gary cahill in around january if not next summer. how he featured in every premier league fixture last year is a bit strange. probably cos he was the only one who stayed fit out of the 4 cb's.

shame he's been crap last few seasons, he was really solid under rafa when he first joined the club, always put his body on the line and never missed a tackle. i think he picked up an injury the year we finished 2nd away at man city and i don't think he's been the same player since.

Hate to jump on the wagon and slag him off after that performance especially when he was played out of position but we are not specifically looking at this performance alone.

He has been quite kamikaze with his defending over the last 12-18 months, tugging the opponents shirt at free kicks and corners, giving away stupid free kicks and getting booked for them especially in areas of the pitch which are of no danger.

he needs to have a real hard look in the mirror and see what he has become cause he is costing us points every year.

I agree with you totally. It was a mistake for King Kenny when he puts Skrtel in the Right Back position. I would have put Carragher at Right Back yesterday and gave the full debut to Coates in the Centre Back position. Then I would put Kuyt on the Right of Midfield to help out Carragher on the right hand side. Kuyt may not have the speed to challenge Bale but he got the stamina to keep up with Bale and together with Carragher's positional sense ,it would decrease the amount of threat on the right hand side. But what done cannot be undone. So let's move on and I sincerely hope that King Kenny have learnt his lesson on playing Skrtel. Come on King...we know you can do better than this...

skrtel is a player i have never been a fan of. he does basics wrong , stuff you learn in school

Haha, that's what I would call an own goal! Actually at Skrtel's own level!

Really can't believe the stick Skrtl is getting. He is an okay CB who was deployed out wide to cover against a brilliant winger who has made RBs look silly in the past. Fact is all the team played horribly awful and no player should be singled out.

Just a reminder Skrtl played 40 odd games last season the most capped player last season for Liverpool and was doing it consistently well. He made a few errors that even Pique or Vidic can make throughout an entire season but at least he played. He is the kind of player that never says anything to the press, never whines, but sadly fans have to pick out a player every game and put him all the way down to hell.

I really am shocked at this behaviour...

i do not blame skrtel, for his below par performance v spurs.

he gave is best shot and that is all u can ask from a player, who is not a rite back.
