can't have babel on from the start - at least riera is tall and strong in the air so might help defensively ...... babel is a passenger most of the game and you can't afford those against a side as good as the chavs

riera won't win us the though i think babel is always worth the risk in my opinion he might not do anything for 89 minutes but he may do something brilliant riera wont will he ?

I feel Rafa should start Kyrgiakos at the back due to the arial presence Hull can put fourth if they play Venegoor of Hesselink or even Altidore up front. Venegoor is a tall lad good in the air and needs someone like Kyrgiakos to compete with him physically. Altidore himself is a strong boy with lots of pace and arial presence. I really wish Sami was still here, he would thwart them both in that category, but i think Kyrgiakos will be our best bet against it.

i think this is spot on with who he'll use. leaving carra out now while all this discussion is going about him being completely past it (which he's not) would stoke the flames and have negative effect on carra himself. bad all round.

Why do we need two holding players(mash,lucas)against the mighty hull?I expect a handsome win.They're even poorer this season than they were last season.Although,they did get a 2-2 draw courtesy of some calamitous defending by dossena.Play riera on the left,kuyt on the right.Gerrard & mash in the middle with yossi behind torres.Johnson,carra,skrtel & insua at the back.Get the game won,then bring on the likes of spearing,ngog & maybe give darby a go,if he's fit.
