Against Hull i think Spearing should be given the chance instead of Lucas or Masch.

Against Chelsea i would like to see the following team:

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Carra Aurelio
Masch Gerrard
Kuyt Yossi Riera
Torres

I think it's churlish to say that Spearing is better than Lucas on the back of one good performance. One which was against League 1 opposition at the end of the day.

Although, I'm not one of Lucas's biggest fans I still think that he's shown an improvement this year and an improved attitude.

If you're talking about the Chelsea game i think a draw would be pretty good, but of course i would like to win...

Why're you asking? Because i have Gerrard-Masch in the middle or what?

i am not saying it one performance - i am saying it on having watched spearing as he came up through the youth teams ...... the lad is a major talent and needs games ...... lucas has shown improvement but he is still not at spearing's level

to me its a no brainer - spearing needs the chance to get first team experience now ..... i don't care if the opposition is chelsea, arsenal, man u or accrington stanley spearing should start ahead of lucas

Okey...I like Insua very much but in these kind of games i think it's important to have Aurelio, mainly because he's very good at set pieces...When it comes to Riera/Babel i choose Riera because i can't remember the last time Babel had a good impact on a game when he was in the starting line-up...

insua gives more to the team than aurelio - he has to face chelsea or we are accepting defeat before the kick off ...... fabs is great at set pieces and after 6 or 7 games he is top class but it always takes him a while to get back to form and we can't afford that against the chavs!

though i don't see the problem with riera personally - i think he gives us better balance down the left and spuds showed against chelsea that if you aren't well balanced against them then you will get destroyed!!

I think it is criminal to play Spearing at this important stage in the season with the massive games coming up. With Aquilani nowhere near return, Lucas needs to start all the games he can get to boost his confidence so that he plays at that level for the big clashes. He can be substituted when we are up 3-0.

Against Chelsea and Man united, of we stop the crosses, we stand a good chance. right now, we are slightly unbalanced with our right looking very strong but left looks weak.

anyway this week is about Hull and i am looking forward to 3 points. no excuses against a team low on confidence. It is time to be ruthless. If we get an early goal, it could get ugly for Hull. Might be good to get a clean sheet too
