You make me laugh. When Murph had a pop at you you got all upset and had a tantrum yet it seems fine that you can do worse to others like belittling Marko. Bit of the pot calling the kettle black!

4-2-3-1 formation next season with Adam in Lucas in the centre, Gerrard as an attacking mid, possibly Suarez on one of the wings, a new signing on the other wing and Carroll as a lone striker. When I say lone striker, you must understand that Suarez's job on the wing in this case would be to cut in and support the striker and that Gerrard would be pushing up as a second striker too.

Wouldn't that make Gerrard a 3rd striker?

And why would Kenny spend £16m+ on a priority player and not have him in the first team? Bench warmers surely aren't a priority?

Your pedantry astounds me. Cop on, seriously.

On the point you actually did address, just because the club has payed £16m for the player, doesn't mean he's going to go straight into the starting 11 week in week out. He may very well, that remains to be seen. But either way, it's what's called an investment. Step outside the box.

I'd be very disappointed if one of our transfer priorities and a large sum of money was spent on an investment when there are so many glaring spaces to fill. I rubbished it at first but I'm slowly being more and more convinced that we could see the likes of Gerrard or henderson out on the right.

You've misread my post and turned nasty un-necessarily. I never said Henderson should go straight in to the 1st team BECAUSE we paid £16m for him. I said that he has been labelled by Commoli as an absolute priority signing. So regardless of his value, unless one of our "absolute priorities" is to warm the bench, then Henderson is a starter.

I don't mind people challenging me and having a go, but at least show that you understand what you have read please, or we're both wasting our time.

Okay firstly, i wasn't turning nasty. The comment i was referring to which you made, was very very petty, that's why i was calling you pedantic. Don't really see any excuse for that.

Also, i did understand your point. Everytime someone pulls you up on a point you accuse them of "not understanding". Why is that? Henderson and Adam were named by Comolli as 'priority signings' - we don't know how many of their targets they've identified as priority signings. For all we know there could be 7 or 8 of these 'priority signings'. It doesn't make them automatic starters.

For example, if a football club is completely happy with their first choice 11, and most of their back up players, but there's one area where their back up is weak, then a 'priority signing' may be to sign someone in this position - as back up, but not necessarily to be first choice. I hope that gets my point across.

Indeed.
My remark about the 3rd striker was light hearted, not pedantic.
Surely I can be forgiven for assuming that an "absolute priority" signing is seen as 1st team starter. I'm sure that most people would see it that way (especially if it was someone else saying it and not me!)

You should never assume. It makes an ass out of you and me.

It didn't come across that way.

As murph said, you should never assume. Most of what you're pulling other people up on are their very own assumptions. The thing is, everyone has their own interpretations and views on things, but you seem to be the only person who takes their opinions as being 'right'. I completely disagree with your interpretation of Comolli's "priority signing" remark. Frankly i think it's ridiculous, no player will be taken for granted to be a guaranteed starter, if that's what you're implying, which it seems to be.
