Are we expecting BIG changes in midfield for next season?
Commoli has said that Adam and Henderson were Kenny's 2 "absolute priorities". To me, this doesn't indicate a plan to provide greater strength in squad depth - this sounds like they have been bought as 1st team starters, which is a slight concern to be honest. If we're aiming for a 3 man midfield, presumably Gerrard isn't going to be dropped. Which means that Lucas & Meireles will be left out.
Could this be why there is so much talk of Meirlese moving on?

I am pretty sure lucas wont be dropped. Cuz he is the only holding midfielder we got. And yea may be raul may leave.
But i am not sure if aquaman will leave.

Not entirely sure, I was thinking there will be something of a squad rotation system going on. For example.

Adam Gerrard Hendo
Then say, Swap out 2 of them and add in Meireles/Lucas or whatever.

Either way, I can see a few midfielders moving on.
Cole, Possibly Shelvey.
Maybe even Meireles and Lucas, you never know.
Also, completely forgot about Aquaman, I think he has a lot more to offer and I would keep him ahead of a couple of the other midfielders.

I can see gerrard, aquilani, adam, lucas & henderson fighting it out for 3 central midfield places. Keep shelvey and spearing as backup and move Poulsen and Meireles on.

Yeah I can see that happening. I like Meireles but with the amount of money that's been mentioned I think it's best to move him on.

I think you may be reading a bit too much into Comolli's comments. Just because he said they were two of the club's transfer priorities, doesn't mean they'll go straight into the starting 11. Especially in the case of Henderson, who's quite young. Henry has said that they're not interested in signing players for the short term, just the long term - Henderson is certainly in this category. Gerrard won't be around forever, unfortunately.

Agree with BarLennon, I can't see Henderson in the starting 11 unless he is playing down the right and I don't think that will be the case. Just because they are priorities doesn't meen they will jump into the starting 11, although I feel that Adam will jump straight in. I wouldn't be surprised to see us playing a
4-2-3-1 formation next season with Adam in Lucas in the centre, Gerrard as an attacking mid, possibly Suarez on one of the wings, a new signing on the other wing and Carroll as a lone striker. When I say lone striker, you must understand that Suarez's job on the wing in this case would be to cut in and support the striker and that Gerrard would be pushing up as a second striker too.

Forgot to mention I am almost 100% certain Aquaman will be offloaded during this transfer window.

Wouldn't that make Gerrard a 3rd striker?

And why would Kenny spend £16m+ on a priority player and not have him in the first team? Bench warmers surely aren't a priority?
