City have 2 home games remaining - Spurs and Stoke. They might rest players today and play for the draw, looking ahead to the FA Cup final, and knowing the draw would kill Spurs challenge for 4th. But if they lose on Sunday they may crumble - and Stoke would relish the chance to beat them twice in a week. So it could easily come down to the last game of the season, where they would have to pick themselves up and win away at Blackburn just to hang onto 4th.
All assuming we beat Spurs and Villa by the necessary margins - and the games are all very much in their favour. But anything can happen. Maybe we thrash Spurs on the weekend to put the phear into City and they just lose it?

It is still a big ask for us to get 4th place, and it is not in our own hands, it all depends on City's results. If Tottenham can beat them tonight, that would leave us 4 points behind, and also 1 point behind spurs. Then we need to beat Spurs at the weekend, taking us above spurs into 5th 1 point behind city who will have a game in hand, which is against stoke, who for me could give them a game.
It is do-able, but it is a big ask.....
IN KENNY WE TRUST, WE CAN DREAM OF IT CAN'T WE?????

About the regulations on the same points:
22. If any 2 or more Clubs have scored the same number of points their position in the table shall be determined on goal difference, that is to say, the difference between the total number of goals scored by and against a Club in League Matches in that Season, and the higher or highest placed Club shall be the Club with the higher or highest goal difference.
23. If any 2 or more Clubs have scored the same number of points and have the same goal difference the higher or highest placed Club shall be the Club having scored the most goals in League Matches in that Season.
24. Subject to Rule B.31, if any 2 or more Clubs have scored the same number of points, have the same goal difference and have scored the same number of goals in League Matches in that Season they shall be deemed to occupy the same position in the table.
Play-offs 31. If at the end of the Season either the League Champions or the Clubs to be relegated or the question of qualification for other competitions cannot be determined because 2 or more Clubs are equal on points, goal difference and goals scored, the Clubs concerned shall play off one or more deciding League Matches on neutral grounds, the format, timing and venue of which shall be determined by the Board.
At the moment we have more scored goals than City - but in this funny season - I wouldn't rule out PlayOff:D

As I say, I think City will bank the draw tonight, which plays into our hands a bit as it kills Spurs' challenge ('Arry has already indicated he's not interested in playing in the EL) who could as a result not play at 100% at Anfield. If City then lose the FA Cup final anything could happen to them... They are not that amazing without Tevez, especially on the road.
And then they'll go win both today and the FA Cup just to spite me. B@stards.... But I haven't given up hope yet.

I wouldn't think that City would fail to win another game yet score 5 more goals than we do while winning both our remaining games.
City either get 3+ points over the next 3 games, or we get 6 and take 4th.
