I'll put my argument in clearer way; in all competitions, after their first 16 games in charge Roy Hodgson had a better record than Kenny Dalglish - that is a fact not an opinion.
I'll put my argument in a clearer way; compare apples with apples. If you consider home and away wins against a team from Macedonia to have the same weight as beating Man U (home) and Chelsea (away), then you need your head read. If you consider our exit in the first round of the League Cup (at home to Northampton) is the same as our exit in the first round of the FA Cup (away at Old Trafford with KD in charge less than 24 hours, where Howard Webb gives a them penalty after 23 seconds for a dive), then you need your head read further.
To add weight to my argument, consider that Liverpool's most expensive player jumped ship with 3 days left in the transfer window (the same player who scored the winner against the WBA of old), forcing Kenny to sign an injured striker and another from Ajax who had not played for a month due to suspension. Consider also that Steven Gerrard has played no more than 5 of Kenny's 16, where Hodgson had Torres for all but 2 matches.
You need to compare apples with apples.
Europe. Roy P10 W7 D3 L0 Kenny P4 W1 D2 L1
Obviously Roy's record here is clearly better, but one must not lose sight of the 4 qualifying games against sides not fit to play in the Championship, and that Kenny's loss came against a CL-qualified side who had beaten Arsenal on the same ground.
Cups. Both managers P1 L1, but Roy's loss to Northampton was pathetic, while Kenny's loss to Howard Webb on this first day is simply unfortunate.
EPL. After 8 EPL games Roy had us in the relegation zone, having won only 1 match. After 8 EPL games Kenny had won 5 and only lost 1. After those 8 Roy managed to have us playing as inconsistently as Kenny has us playing now - so that's a wash.
I think Kenny is doing a lot better than Roy, and that has nothing to do with who he was 20 years ago. And that's a fact, not an opinion.
