We clearly paid through the nose for Carroll, due to a combination of Torres' late bombshell, and the cunning of Mike Ashley who squeezed every drop from the transaction.

That said, we have gained a superb opportunistic young striker, with a physical presence second to none and one who is a great header of the ball which has been lacking up front at the club for decades. He's in the prime of his life and always hungry in the goalmouth.

Hooked up with the nippy Suarez we have untold pleasures ahead lads, and this might well be a strike force generations look back on with awe.

I look forward to watching them both tomorrow....

Hopefully you lucky buggers that make it to Anfield will make enough noise so that those of us watching across the world are well represented! grin

What irritated me this season when Torres played was; his Drogba like antics, falling over and arguing with refs and players alike. When he got riled up by opposition players he lost it and never got back into the game. Saw it especially when we played Chelsea, Man U, Blackpool and even Everton. Him and Gerrard had a speel where they would not even celebrate a goal together. Before Kenny came in Torres complained more then he played, he just didn't give a sh!te. Anyone can leave if they think they bigger then the club. He was sold because he didn't want to play for us anymore, thought he was bigger then the club. Babbel was sold because he was useless and a problem maker.

Now we have two new lads with bags and bags of potential. Carroll doesn't need to get up to speed with the Premiere League because he has been banging in the goals. Suarez might need some time but I doubt it. The bit I saw of him looks great he doesn't fall over when he is touched and he has skill and an eye for goal. And both of them are young enough to be molded by Dalglish and be tought the Liverpool way.

It is not their fault that they came here for huge fees. We hardballed it with Ajaz for Suarez and we didn't have a choice in the Carroll matter. Yes it's rediculous to spend 35 Million on a player that paleyd in the Championship last season. But what else were we supposed to do? Rely on Ngog? FFS please not!

the differance is with torres defence had a problem on the ground but with suarez and caroll they will have to cope with the threat in the air as well as on the ground and they won't be easy to push around like torres they will keep defences busy which will give time and space for gero and merieles

The thing about Torres' game is that he really doesn't fit in the pass and move philosophy, he even struggles when playing in Spain's Tiki-Taka style, preferring to chase long balls and have the ball at his feet than participate in build-up play. He really is one of the world's top strikers on his day, but if Carroll and Suarez make a more united front and team collective then his departure was for the best.

good point, instead of just one guy and one option up front we have a two pronged attack and i think it will work ok.
