Its even harder to believe that we were constantly in the top4 and earned the right to be classed as the number one club side in europe with a manager with a rubbish transfer policy.

I don't understand how you can blame Rafa for the problems with our current squad. In Rafa's last year he had bugger all funds to work with and we finished 7th. With very few changes to the team Roy had us in 12th playing the most putrid football I have ever seen in my many years watching the Reds. Roy doesn't get the blame for the squad we have but the quality on the pitch and position on the table are reflective of his failures as a manager.

I am actually defending what was right for our club,what you see on the pitch today is years of asset stripping,a profitable sell to buy policy,how do you expect any manager to build a team of any quality when you are constantly downgrading your players,and last season it took its toll.

Mate come on, his record is superb. The end of his reign was due to poor ownership and off field issues. You can't blame Benitez. He loved the club and the fans.

And poor signings, and poor tactics at home, and bizzare substitutions that had even Steven Gerrard baffled, and poor man-management.

His record was getting worse, thank god his last season ended when it did because we were lucky to get 7th.

And yes actually, we can blame Benitez.

it saddens me that rather than respect our history, our fans poke holes through the quality of people and their efforts. Should Benitez have gone at the end of last year? Probably. Should we respect what he did for our club? Definately. Should we rubbish the name of a manager who took us to European Glory and an FA cup title, not to mention a second CL final that we lost? I don't think so.
