Football is a game of epic proportions. Every year, we get to see countless youngsters making their way into the world of professional football. If we take a closer look at the Premier League, we will realize that quite a few promising youngsters have already started taking giant strides in the world of football. Heavyweights such as Chelsea and Manchester United did not enjoy much success in 2018-19.

A prime reason behind Chelsea and Manchester United’s sorry show in recent times has been the club’s overdependence on ageing players. Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, Lee Grant and Sergio Romero are already in their thirties. Most of these players would start looking for better opportunities once they are past their prime. If several of the big names leave the club simultaneously, then it  is likely to create a huge void. In order to keep such situations at bay, the Red Devils need to invest in youngsters.

Just as Manchester United, Chelsea too have a considerable number of aged players in their ranks. Cesar Azpilicueta, Caballero, Oliver Giroud, and Pedro have already entered into the thirties. Most of these players won’t be able to go on for long.

Roping in youngsters is a great way of nurturing future stars. Fortunately, both of these heavyweights have some excellent raw material to work with. Let us take a look at some of the promising youngsters that have been signed by both these clubs in recent times.

In his first three matches for the Red Devils this season, the lad from Englandended up scoring two goals. He is considered a long-term prospect by the club. The 18-year-old happens to be slim, slender and agile. The 18-year-old will have a lot to prove during his time with Manchester United.

Christian Pulisic (Chelsea)

This lad from the United States of America created ripples in the world of football after he was signed by Chelsea FC after star striker Eden Hazard decided to leave Chelsea to pursue a career with Real Madrid. In four matches for the club thus far, the 20-year-old hasn’t scored a goal. Since Hazard’s departure, the club has been struggling to find the Belgian’s replacement. Chelsea can consider him a long-term prospect. Nurturing Pulisic is bound to reap rich dividends in the years to come.

Tammy Abraham (Chelsea)

He enjoyed a few decent outings during his loan spell with Aston Villa. In 37 matches for the club, the 21-year-old scored 25 goals. His speed happens to be his most powerful weapon. At 21, he possesses the ability to turn the game on its head. Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will have to handle Tammy very carefully if he wants to unlock his potential.
