Liverpool step up interest in Alexander Isak

Liverpool are stepping up their interest in 17-year-old Swedish striker Alexander Isak.

Earlier this week it was reported that the Reds were interested in the youngster who appears to be wanted by every major European club that you can think of.

With so many clubs interested in him, it is now claimed that we have made a formal approach to the player’s agent Vlado Lemic and AIK sporting director Bjorn Wesstrom to register our interest and hopefully look at a future transfer.

Commenting on the speculation, Wesstrom said: “I have no comments about which clubs are involved, but I can confirm that we have been contacted by teams in the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A.

“It is not small clubs that we’re talking about so it’s obviously flattering.”

Isak, who has been likened to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has played for Sweden at Under 17, Under 19 and Under 21 levels.
