Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with Atletico Madrid for midfielder Saúl Ñíguez.
The 21-year-old, who can be deployed as a central or defensive midfielder, isn’t for sale according to boss Diego Simeone but United could trigger a £19.5million release clause.
However, reports in Spain claim that the Spain Under 21 international is happy where he is and that it’s agent chatter that’s causing the ongoing speculation.
Arsenal have also been linked with Ñíguez, who could become available in the summer if Simeone leaves the club. There are suggestions that he could walk as a result of Atletico allowing Diego Costa, Filipe Luis, Toby Alderweireld and Joel Robles to leave the club in recent transfer windows.
