Virgil van Dijk pushing for Liverpool transfer

Virgil van Dijk has reiterated to Southampton that he wants to leave the club and sign for Liverpool.

The 26-year-old has held fresh talks with The Saints and informed them that he wants out in the hope that they will finally cave in and open negotiations with Liverpool.

Within minutes of Liverpool issuing a public statement on June 7th saying that they had ended their interest in the player, we dismissed that suggestion as nonsense and informed our readers that the Reds would continue to pursue the player and we still believe that to be the case.

With just over a week remaining until the new Premier League campaign gets under way, Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino must now decide whether to stand firm and insist that Van Dijk will be denied an exit or U-turn and invite Liverpool to make a fresh offer.
