UEFA are to take action against Manchester United and Liverpool following last night’s Europa League tie, a summary of which is detailed below.

Disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA Europa League round of 16 between Manchester United FC and Liverpool FC (1-1) played on 17 March in England.

Charges against Manchester United FC:

– Stairways blocked – art 38 Safety & Security Regulations
– Crowd disturbances – Art. 16 (2) of the Disciplinary Regulations (DR)
– Throwing of objects – Art. 16 (2) DR

Charges against Liverpool FC:

– Illicit chants – Art. 16 (2) DR
– Setting off of fireworks – Art. 16 (2) DR
-Throwing of objects – Art. 16 (2) DR
– Crowd disturbances – Art. 16 (2) DR
– Late Kick-off – Art. 11 (2) DR

The case will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on 19 May.
