Spartak Moscow have been dealt a huge injury blow ahead of next week’s Champions League clash with Liverpool.
The Russian giants will be without left-back Dmitri Kombarov when they travel to Merseyside after the player broke a rib in yesterday’s 3-1 win over Zenit St Petersburg in the Russian Premier League.
Liverpool only need a point to qualify while Spartak, who extended their unbeaten run to 11 games as a result of yesterday’s victory, must go for a win so this development is a real blow for their manager Massimo Carrera.
The Reds host Spartak at Anfield on Wednesday 6th. The game kicks off at 7.45pm.
