Sakho drugs hearing on Thursday

Mamadou Sakho

UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary board will meet in Paris on Thursday to determine if Mamadou Sakho should face further punishment or exoneration in relation to failing a drugs test.

The Liverpool defender’s legal team will argue that the substance he was tested positive for shouldn’t be deemed illegal.

Sakho’s 30-day provisional suspension ended on May 28th and his team will argue that a further ban would be unjust.

Traces of a fat burner were found in a sample following a 1-1 draw with Manchester United in the second leg of the Europa League last 16 clash on March 17th. He accepted the consequences and never asked for his B sample to be tested.
