PSG’s Salvatore Sirigu is the latest goalkeeper to be linked with Liverpool as speculation surrounding Simon Mignolet’s long term future rumbles on.
Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp will upgrage Mignolet in the summer given chance but other positions will be prioritised first and even if he does bring in a replacement, Mignolet will not be sold unless the funds are needed or he requests to leave.
Sirigu – capped 15 times by Italy – is wanted by Aston Villa but he has so far rejected their advances but remains keen on the idea of a move to the Premier League after losing his status as PSG’s first choice ‘keeper.
Klopp continues to insist that Mignolet – who kept the most Premier League clean sheets in 2015 – has his backing.
