Peter Moore, Liverpool Football Club’s interactive man of the people, and chief executive office, likes a retweet as many of you will now know. He is our very own Donald Trump, flying the flag, often tweeting at night after another long day of trying to ‘Make Liverpool Great Again’ (MLGA).
We picture him sat in his lounge in his official Liverpool FC slippers and robe knocking back a tipple of Glenmorangie while checking his iPhone before bed. He keeps us informed of all the nice things the club are doing while pulling into line anyone who tries to overstep it.
Last night he tweeted about the positive, albeit expected, news of Ben Woodburn signing a new contract with the Reds following his recent 18th birthday. One Liverpool fan responded by asking if he could play centre-back. No abuse. No naughty words. Just a light-hearted joke. But the inevitable retweet to set the snowflakes on this fan for daring to be funny, duly followed.
Clearly just a bit of banter and a genuine concern throughout the Liverpool fanbase, the fan was accused of possibly having a ‘personal agenda’ by the Liverpool CEO. Read that back, C-E-O. The club’s chief executive officer.
We love the interaction by Peter and when he genuinely steps up to help supporters we think that’s fabulous. As Dejan Lovren has witnessed himself these last few days, social media is heavily populated by some real dregs of society. Being on the receiving end of that can’t be nice so we understand why Peter may retweet some of the abuse he sadly receives. However, he is a CEO, not a 15-year-old teenager and although we find his account informative, he really is a poor Twitter ITK if he can’t take a bit of banter ![]()
Peter, although you’re not involved in transfer deals as you often have to point out, you are still a senior representative of the club so of course fans are going to express their views to you. It’s a poor show if a fan is accused of having an agenda for merely expressing their sensible, albeit tongue-in-cheek, views. Setting the pack on them in the hope of ridiculing such fans further is also pretty lame.
Please include us and the millions of other Liverpool fans around the world for having an agenda just because we care.
Maybe he can play centre back ?

Maybe you can this young man the respect he deserves and not use this great day in his life to fuel whatever personal agenda you may have ?? https://t.co/rrRHKd3lCw
