Former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has been linked with a shock move back to Anfield.
The 33-year-old left Liverpool 3 years ago following rumours of a bust-up with former boss Brendan Rodgers. Despite their frosty relationship, Reina’s salary was also a major contributing factor to his exit.
Reports originating from Italy suggest that Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp is investigating the possibility of a transfer depending on Napoli’s response and valuation should they be willing to listen to offers.
A player/coaching role has been mooted for the Spaniard.
Liverpool have already signed Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius (22) for £4.7million but the manager appears keen to bring in another ‘keeper if a sensible deal can be secured.
