Mamadou Sakho sent back to England

Liverpool defender Mamado Sakho has been sent home from the US tour with suggestions that his attitude and behaviour hasn’t been the best.

The 26-year-old is due to land in the UK today to continue receiving treatment on an Achilles injury. Well placed sources insist that the reason to send him packing is not as a result of his injury. Other players returning from injury have remained with the squad.

Liverpool have declined to comment as to why Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp made the decision to send him back.

It is claimed that Sakho was late for the flight to the US when the Reds departed for the pre-season tour. This was picked up in a video (see below from 2:28) for the club’s official website where the manager appeared to banter with the player about the incident.
