Liverpool transfer bid rejected

Liverpool have had a £7million transfer bid rejected for Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell.

The 19-year-old left-back hasn’t played a single Premier League game as yet but has turned out 3 times for City in cup competitions.

Liverpool believe he is capable of challenging Alberto Moreno hence the £7m offer which consists of an initial £5m with £2m in add-ons.

Leicester City have rebuffed the bid stating that they want £10m for Chilwell who has a year left to run on his contract.

The player’s representatives have already indicated that their client is up for a move to Anfield.

There are suggestions that Liverpool could turn to Hull City’s Scottish international Andy Robertson (22) if they are unable to broker a deal for Chilwell.

We think Liverpool will return with an improved offer to Leicester in due course.
