Liverpool will train at Old Trafford ahead of Thursday’s Europa League tie against Manchester United after opting to stick to UEFA rules.
The Reds have not turned to UEFA for special dispensation like United did last week and will instead treat the game like any other European away tie.
United were allowed to train at their Carrington base and stay in Manchester last week but Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp doesn’t want any favours. His squad will train on the Old Trafford pitch on Wednesday and will stay in the city overnight. He will also give his news conference at the ground as is the tradition of visiting European teams.

Current UEFA rules state that visiting European teams must stay within 27 miles of the host’s stadium the day before a game. United argued that the distance they needed to travel last week was only 34 miles and that it wasn’t necessary to leave the comforts of their own training facilities and stay in a Liverpool hotel due to the short journey involved.
