Liverpool to discover League Cup opponents

Liverpool will discover their opponents in the 3rd round of the League Cup on Wednesday.

The draw will take place live on Sky Sports following the tie between Lincoln City and Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals Everton.

Liverpool were dumped out of the competition at the 3rd round stage last season following a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Anfield. Daniel Sturridge gave the Reds the lead but goals from Emerson and Eden Hazard secured the victory for the visitors.

This year’s 3rd round fixtures will be played the week commencing 23rd September.
