Liverpool open transfer talks with Udinese

Liverpool have opened transfer talks with Udinese this week in relation to the possible signing of Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski.

The Reds have been scouting the 21-year-old midfielder who has been impressing while on a 2-season long loan with Serie A outfit Empoli and have seen enough to try and negotiate a deal.

Liverpool scouts watched Zielinski, who can play on either wing or as a central midfielder, in action against Genoa last week.

Joe Allen is expected to leave Anfield in the summer and it would appear that Zielinski will be his replacement providing a deal can be reached.

It is claimed a fee of around £10million could clinch a deal.
