Borussia Moenchengladbach’s defensive midfielder Havard Nordtveit says he is yet to sign a new contract with his club.
Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp is closely monitoring the 25-year-old’s situation as he considers him a possible “option” for the summer transfer window.
The Norway international, who was once on the books of Arsenal, says he’s no closer to signing a new deal.
He commented: “… my adviser is already currently on holiday, then we’ll see. There is no new update.”
Sporting director Max Eberl added: “We made him a very, very good offer and I am still optimistic that we can keep Howie.
“When it comes to the money, we have no chance [if a Premier League club comes in for him.”
Nordtveit, who can also play in defence, is out of contract in the summer.
