Liverpool scouts head to Italy

Sergio Rico

Liverpool Football Club will have at least one scout in attendance at Italy’s friendly against Spain today.

Information posted on our VIP members’ website yesterday claimed that the Reds will have a senior scout at the game who will be accompanied by at least one other Liverpool representative although we’re unsure if this is a club official, a member of the coaching team or another scout.

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque said yesterday that it was time to hand Sergio Rico his debut in goal. The Sevilla goalkeeper is attracting interest from Liverpool as exclusively revealed by KOPTALK and now picked up by the media both in Spain and the UK. It could be that the Reds are taking a closer look at him which sounds possible as the arrangements to attend the fixture were rather last minute which ties in with Del Bosque’s announcement yesterday. However, Del Bosque may hold back on deploying Rico until their game against Romania on Sunday.

Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp is looking at a handful of goalkeepers and we believe that Rico is under consideration, although we’re not convinced he’s a primary target at this stage.

Italy’s Antonio Candreva is another player who could be in action. He was linked with us earlier in the year. Spain’s Álvaro Morata has also been linked with us.

Check our Liverpool Scouts page tomorrow for possible updates should further information become available.

Meanwhile, away from this fixture, Liverpool have again been linked with Real Betis’ goalkeeper Antonio Adan (28).
