Liverpool have been linked with a possible move for Bayern Munich’s Renato Sanches.
It is claimed that the Reds are considering a late move for the 19-year-old despite Chelsea and AC Milan fighting for his signature.
Winner of the 2016 Golden Boy award and voted Best Young Player at Euro 2016, Sanches needs to kick-start his career following a miserable season with Bayern which resulted in him losing his place in the national senior squad and dropping down to the Under 21s.
He played just 618 league minutes in the Bundesliga last season and failed to play a direct role in any of Bayern’s goals.
Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that the player is available for loan although the suggestion is that Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp is only interested in a permanent deal.
Despite being labeled as a ‘wonderkid’, Lothar Matthäus last month described Sanches as one of the biggest flops in Germany although Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti has previously said that he still had faith in the youngster and claimed that he would not be sold or loaned out for the 2017-18 season.
Benfica received a fee of around £30million from Bayern in 2016 which can rise to £71.2million subject to additional bonuses.
