Liverpool distance themselves from Andros Townsend

Liverpool Football Club are not interested in signing Newcastle United winger Andros Townsend.

Newspaper reports claimed that the Reds and Manchester City were interested in signing the 24-year-old but Anfield officials have commented off the record to state that we have no interest in him.

Liverpool instead appear to be focused on signing Piotr Zielinski, Ben Chilwell and Sadio Mane although boss Jürgen Klopp hasn’t given up on Mario Götze just yet.

Meanwhile, images that surfaced on social media of Liverpool’s Jordon Ibe wearing a West Ham shirt over the weekend have been explained. The 20-year-old was having a kickabout in a park in Essex with pal Nathan Mavila who’s on the books of West Ham and he borrowed the shirt from him.

Ibe’s future at Anfield remains up for debate but currently the Reds have received no bids for him.
