Koumas starts, Szoboszlai misses out against City

Lewis Koumas leads the line for Liverpool at Anfield, with Dominik Szoboszlai left out of the matchday squad altogether.

Koumas makes his first Premier League start in place of the injured Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo, with Bradley Barcola and Victor Munoz supporting him. Jeremy Jacquet is fit and starts after missing France’s last game as a precaution.

Szoboszlai is not even among the substitutes. The club has given no reason, but KopTalk sources say he has been ruled out with a hamstring problem. Alexis Mac Allister is in the side, alongside Ryan Gravenberch.

Liverpool: Alisson, Van Dijk, Jacquet, Kerkez, Wirtz, Mac Allister, Munoz, Barcola, Araujo, Gravenberch, Koumas.

Subs: Mamardashvili, Gomez, Endo, Chiesa, Tsimikas, Frimpong, Nyoni, McConnell, Ngumoha.

Kick-off is at 4.30pm UK time.
