Jon Flanagan completes Burnley transfer

Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan has joined Burnley on a season-long loan deal.

The 23-year-old defender will spend the season at Turf Moor in the hope of impressing Jürgen Klopp. The Liverpool manager insists that Flanagan can still be included in his future plans if he can stay clear of injuries.

Flanagan, who signed a new contract with Liverpool back in March, rejected an opportunity from former Reds’ boss Brendan Rodgers to make the switch to Celtic.

Meanwhile, Liverpool midfielder James Milner has retired from international football.
