Liverpool continue to be linked with Sporting Lisbon ace Goncalo Inacio despite not following up their interest in him during the summer.
The mainstream media are reporting that Jürgen Klopp has scouts assigned to the centre-back which sounds a little suspicious because what else is there for the Reds’ boss to know having had him scouted previously for a very long time? The reports then were glowing, so much so that we fully expected us to make an approach in the summer. Information supplied to us earlier in the year suggested that this would be the case, but it didn’t happen and we were left feeling quite disappointed.
It is claimed that Liverpool scouts watched the defender in action for Portugal against Bosnia on 16th October. Scouts from Old Trafford are also said to have been present at the match with the media trying to put forward the narrative that both clubs are going to battle it out for his signature. They try to suggest that United are the favourites due to the fact that Inacio is represented by Miguel Pinho who has an existing relationship with the Red Devils due to also representing Bruno Fernandes.
Although the latest reports are speculative, we would advise that you continue to monitor Inacio as we know Klopp is a huge admirer. We may not believe these particular claims but we definitely wouldn’t rule out future interest in him. Definitely one to watch.
