Daniel Sturridge due back in training on Wednesday

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is due to return to training at Melwood on Wednesday.

News of such would usually be welcomed by supporters but having experienced so many false dawns, few will get their hopes up about him returning and staying available.

Information coming out of Anfield about the 26-year-old has been limited which has naturally resulted in social media degenerates spreading scurrilous rumours about him. We would advise you ignore such.

Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann recently called on the club to be honest about Sturridge’s status, a view shared by many supporters who are confused about what’s going on behind the scenes.

When fit and on form Sturridge is a great player to have in the side so let’s hope he can finally shake off whatever is bothering him as we desperately need his contribution.

Martin Skrtel, Divock Origi and Philippe Coutinho are all also due back in training this week.
