Crystal Palace are holding talks with Liverpool in the hope of securing a deal for striker Christian Benteke.
Palace boss Alan Pardew is in the market for reinforcements after releasing Emmanuel Adebayor and Marouane Chamakh while Dwight Gayle looks set to move to Newcastle.
Benteke’s representatives have informally agreed personal terms in principle with Palace but there is no agreement between both clubs at this time with regards a transfer fee.
Liverpool insist they won’t allow the 25-year-old to leave for a knocked down fee and with Palace having failed to land Michy Batshuayi having bid in excess of £30m for him, this would suggest they have plenty of money available. Whether or not they would be prepared to shell out £30m for Benteke is another matter though.
