Jamie Carragher is urging Liverpool to sign a new left-back ahead of the new campaign.
Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp has so far failed to strengthen that position which is proving a concern for many supporters who have little faith in Alberto Moreno and don’t see James Milner as a long-term solution.
Following Liverpool’s Europa League final defeat to Sevilla back in May, Carragher was quite vocal on Twitter about the need for a left-back (see above) although this time his comments are a little more reserved.
Carra said: “James Milner has a good understanding of the game and great fitness levels, but of course Liverpool need to sign a left-back.
“They have sold Brad Smith to Bournemouth and you need two players for every position so they need someone else alongside Alberto Moreno.
“Milner did a good job against Barcelona but you certainly wouldn’t to go into the season without one more recognised left-back.”
