Brendan Rodgers in talks to sign Liverpool defender

Former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is attempting to raid his old club by snapping up Andre Wisdom.

Recently appointed as the new manager of Celtic, Rodgers has identified the 23-year-old defender as just the man to help strengthen his defensive options.

A bid of around £3million has been tabled with both clubs believed to be currently locked in negotiations with current Reds’ boss Jürgen Klopp appearing willing to let him go.

Wisdom, who signed a new 4-year contract with the club in May 2015, spent last season loan with Norwich City.

Celtic had previously enquired about a season-long loan deal for Joe Gomez.
